Air France-KLM is advancing its digital transformation by migrating its applications to the cloud in collaboration with Accenture. This multi-year initiative aims to enhance operations across passenger transport, aircraft maintenance, and real-time decision-making by transitioning from three existing data centers to a more agile infrastructure.

Accenture is co-leading the project, implementing a common operating model to streamline the migration. A cloud migration factory using predefined processes and reusable templates has been set up, and 350 applications have already been moved.

“This collaboration marks a major step in our digital transformation,” said Pierre-Olivier Bandet, Air France-KLM’s executive vice president of information systems. “Leveraging cloud and AI, we can build more efficient and flexible operations that improve performance across the organization. Our work with Accenture will optimize decision-making and enhance the travel experience for millions of customers.”

Accenture’s Sabine Bechelani, managing director for travel and client accounts, highlighted that the partnership is designed to boost resilience and unlock new growth opportunities through cloud and generative AI. “This collaboration strengthens our ability to help Air France-KLM thrive in the competitive airline market by increasing speed, efficiency, and access to data-driven insights,” she said.

This initiative follows Air France-KLM’s 2024 partnership with Google Cloud, which aims to enhance passenger insights, travel personalization, and AI-driven services. Together, these strategic moves position the airline group at the forefront of cloud innovation in aviation.
