Air France Rebrands Premium Economy to “Premium”

Air France has announced a significant rebranding of its “Premium Economy” cabin, now simply referred to as “Premium.” This change reflects the airline’s strategic move upmarket, aimed at enhancing the quality of its product and service offerings to passengers.

The newly designated Premium cabin will provide travelers with an elevated experience across Air France’s long-haul network. Passengers in the Premium class will enjoy the airline’s latest recliner seat model available on select Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s. These seats feature a recline of up to 124 degrees and offer between 94 to 97 centimeters of legroom, allowing guests ample space to relax during their flight.

As part of its ongoing cabin renewal program, Air France plans to equip nearly 80% of its fleet with these upgraded recliner seats by the end of 2025. This initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to improving passenger comfort and satisfaction.

In-flight amenities for Premium guests include a complimentary comfort kit specifically designed for this cabin. Each kit comes with noise-reducing headphones, a cozy blanket, and a pillow, ensuring passengers can enjoy a restful journey. Before takeoff, crew members will greet each Premium passenger with a glass of champagne, setting a welcoming tone for the flight.

Each Premium seat is equipped with a large 13.3-inch 4K Ultra HD anti-glare touchscreen, USB ports, and access to Wi-Fi, enhancing the entertainment experience. To ensure a seamless airport journey, Premium customers benefit from SkyPriority services, allowing them to navigate through check-in and security with ease.

One of the highlights of the Premium experience is the onboard dining, curated by Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Simonin. Air France prides itself on offering a complete “French-style” meal service, which includes aperitif biscuits, a starter, a choice of two hot dishes, a selection of cheese, and a dessert.

Passengers can choose from enticing meal options such as chicken in prune sauce served with peas, red onion compote, and asparagus tips, or trofie pasta gratin with porcini mushrooms and asparagus. This gourmet dining experience is designed to enhance the overall journey, providing travelers with a taste of French culinary excellence in the air.
