Air France, Turkish Airlines, Royal Air Maroc Expand Services to the Americas
Air France, Turkish Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc are ramping up their services to the Americas starting this December, enhancing travel options between Europe and key South American destinations.
Air France Enhances Brazilian Network
Air France is set to strengthen its presence in Brazil by adding Salvador to its winter 2024-25 schedule. Effective October 28, the airline will operate three weekly flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Salvador-Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport (SSA) on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Salvador, the capital of Bahia and Brazil’s third-largest city, is renowned for its stunning Portuguese colonial architecture and rich Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage. With this new addition, Air France expands its Brazilian network to five destinations, which include São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Fortaleza. Notably, flights to Fortaleza will increase to five times per week during the winter season, raising Air France’s total weekly services in Brazil to approximately 30. Furthermore, a codeshare partnership with Brazilian carrier GOL provides connections to over 40 domestic destinations.
Turkish Airlines Adds Santiago Flights
Turkish Airlines will expand its reach into the Americas by launching flights to Santiago, Chile, starting December 18. This new route will connect Istanbul Airport (IST) to Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport with four weekly flights, including a stopover in São Paulo. Santiago will become the ninth city in Latin America served by Turkish Airlines, adding to its existing destinations such as Bogotá and Buenos Aires.
Royal Air Maroc Launches Toronto Service
Royal Air Maroc is also enhancing its North American presence with a new direct route from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting December 8. Operating three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, this new service complements the airline’s existing Casablanca-Montreal route.
These expansions by Air France, Turkish Airlines, and Royal Air Maroc will significantly boost connectivity to the Americas, catering to the growing demand for travel while promoting tourism and economic ties between regions.
