Air France Unveils Eight New Routes for Winter 2024 & 2025
After serving as the Official Airline Partner for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Air France is turning its attention to the upcoming winter season. On September 17, 2024, the French national carrier announced its full winter schedule, which includes the addition of eight new routes and five new destinations to its network.
From November 2024 to March 2025, Air France will operate flights to 169 destinations across 73 countries, comprising 85 long-haul and 84 short- and medium-haul routes. This expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to enhancing its global connectivity and service offerings.
Among the notable long-haul additions is Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which will be serviced three times a week by Airbus A350-900 aircraft starting November 18, 2024. This route extends the existing service to Zanzibar and marks Air France’s 26th destination in Africa, excluding North African locations.
Another new long-haul destination is Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, set to begin operations on October 28, 2024, also with three weekly flights on Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This addition brings Air France’s total destinations in Brazil to five, joining Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, and Belém. The airline will also increase flight frequencies to Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza, offering up to 10 and five flights weekly, respectively. Overall, Air France will provide up to 32 flights per week to Brazil, with connections to 40 domestic destinations through its partnership with Brazilian carrier GOL.
Air France is also expanding its Asian route offerings, with Manila in the Philippines scheduled for three weekly flights starting December 7, 2024. Additionally, Malé in the Maldives will see up to two flights a week during the holiday season, running from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
In terms of existing long-haul services, Air France will increase frequencies to several popular destinations, including Saint-Martin, Denver, and Phoenix. On the short-haul front, the airline plans to operate over 630 flights daily, enhancing service throughout Northern Europe. Notably, Air France will launch a new weekly route to Kiruna in Sweden from December 21, 2024, to March 8, 2025, utilizing Airbus A319 aircraft.
During the holiday season, Air France will resume flights to previously summer-only destinations, such as Tangiers, Morocco, with up to three weekly flights from December 22, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
In addition to Air France’s new services, Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group, will operate flights to 102 destinations across 20 countries via 172 routes during the winter 2024/25 season. This positioning will make Transavia the busiest low-cost airline serving Paris, especially as its competitor easyJet makes adjustments to its Paris bases.
As Air France rolls out its new winter schedule, travelers can look forward to enhanced connectivity and a wider range of destinations, making it an exciting season for both the airline and its passengers.
