Air freight demand stabilizing as capacity rebounds
Freight companies such as Atlas Air, FedEx and UPS continue to reap the benefits of high air cargo rates as capacity on passenger aircraft remains constrained due to slow recovery of transatlantic routes and flights between Asia, Europe and North America, a situation that FedEx Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Brie Carere said is likely to continue into 2022. “What many of our customers are seeing and learning is that main deck freighters are very attractive,” said Atlas Air CEO John Dietrich.
