Air Hong Kong has announced it will delay the retirement of its remaining A300-600F freighters until 2025, extending their service beyond the previously planned 2024 timeline. The update, first reported by Cargo Facts, was revealed in the latest fleet data shared by Cathay Pacific Group, the parent company of Air Hong Kong, during their recent financial results announcement.

Currently, three A300-600Fs—B-LDB, B-LDG, and B-LDH—are still actively operating for Air Hong Kong on a daily basis, as confirmed by ADS-B flight tracking data. While the cargo carrier retired four A300-600Fs in 2024 and one in 2023, the remaining freighters will continue to serve until their planned retirement in 2025. The airline’s fleet also includes two A330-200Fs and ten A330-300(P2F)s, all of which are operated on behalf of DHL Express.

Malcolm Macbeth, Senior Vice President of Global Air Fleet Management at DHL Express, noted that the A300 freighters based in Asia are being replaced by A330-300P2Fs. The smaller A300s are being redeployed to Europe, where maintenance support is more accessible. However, delays at conversion facilities may be impacting this fleet transition. Air Hong Kong confirmed that the A330 freighters will ultimately replace the A300s in the near future, further modernizing their operations for DHL Express.
