Air Inuit (3H) is set to enhance its fleet with the addition of three B737-800(SF) aircraft through a conversion order with Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. The 2012-build aircraft are expected to be delivered next year, with two of them configured as combis, enabling the airline to utilize them interchangeably for both cargo and passenger operations.

The first unit, C-FTUW (msn 40852), was initially delivered to Air Inuit in a passenger configuration in August 2023 and is scheduled to undergo the Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversion in November. The redelivery as a freighter is anticipated in March 2024. The second combi, C-FTUY (msn 40853), also previously operated by Comair (South Africa), has been acquired by Air Inuit and is currently parked at Kelowna. The redeliveries of the second and third freighters are planned for March and July 2024, respectively.

The conversion work will be carried out by KF Aerospace at Kelowna airport, with the process involving touch labor to transform the aircraft into freighters. Air Inuit’s decision to expand its fleet with these B737-800(SF) aircraft demonstrates its commitment to modernizing its operations and catering to both cargo and passenger needs.

As of now, Air Inuit’s narrowbody fleet comprises four B737-200Cs and one B737-300(QC). Stay tuned for further updates as Air Inuit progresses with the integration of these newly ordered B737-800(SF) aircraft into its fleet.
