Air Link to Build New Hangar and Offices at Dubbo Airport

Australia’s regional airline Air Link has received approval from the local council to construct a new hangar and office facility at Dubbo Airport in New South Wales. The development will also accommodate its sister company, AirMed Australia, which specializes in non-emergency air ambulance services.

Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2025. The new facility will feature a dedicated patient transit lounge to support AirMed’s growing medical transport operations. Additionally, it will include office space, a warehouse, and maintenance areas to enhance operational efficiency for both Air Link and AirMed.

Air Link operates scheduled flights from Dubbo to regional destinations including Bourke, Lightning Ridge, and Walgett. Although it is the smallest scheduled operator at Dubbo by seat capacity, the airline maintains a diverse and active fleet. Its business charter operations are supported by a jet fleet that includes one Citation Jet 2, one Citation M2, five Citation Mustangs, and one Phenom 100. The turboprop and piston fleet consists of several King Air B200s, Piper PA-31s, and other aircraft types suited for regional flying.

AirMed Australia’s fleet includes three Citation Mustangs, three Piper PA-31s, and one Aerostar 600, used primarily for medical transport services across the region.

The new hangar project underlines Air Link’s commitment to expanding its infrastructure in Dubbo, enhancing both passenger and air medical services, and supporting long-term regional aviation growth in New South Wales.
