Air Serbia, Condor, T’Way Launch New Europe-Asia Routes in September
In September, several airlines have introduced significant long-haul routes connecting Europe and Asia, enhancing global travel options. Notable additions include new services from Air Serbia, Condor, and T’Way, each expanding their networks to key destinations.
Air Serbia is set to launch a second route to China starting September 30. The new service will connect Belgrade with Guangzhou, operating twice a week with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. This expansion marks Air Serbia’s continued efforts to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market. The carrier initially entered this market in late 2022 with a route to Tianjin, re-establishing direct flights to China for the first time since October 2000, when its predecessor, JAT Airways, ceased its Beijing service. Air Serbia plans to introduce a second route to Shanghai Pudong International Airport tentatively scheduled for April 2025.
Condor’s Return to Thailand
German leisure carrier Condor is resuming flights to Thailand after an eight-year hiatus. Beginning September 21, Condor will operate twice-weekly flights from Frankfurt to Phuket. The following day, a four-times-weekly service to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport will commence. Both routes will be served by the modern Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, marking Condor’s renewed commitment to enhancing travel options between Europe and Asia.
T’Way’s New European Routes
South Korean low-cost carrier T’Way is expanding its European network with the launch of its third new route following the Korean Air-Asiana merger. After starting services from Seoul Incheon International Airport to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Rome Fiumicino in August, T’Way will begin flights to Barcelona El Prat Airport on September 11. This route will be operated twice a week using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Other Noteworthy Route Additions
In addition to these expansions, several other airlines have introduced exciting new routes. TAP Air Portugal is launching flights to Florianópolis, the capital of the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. Starting September 1, the airline will operate three times weekly flights using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has also increased its connectivity by adding daily flights to Kuala Lumpur Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB), also known as Subang Airport. This development follows AirAsia’s recent introduction of flights from SZB in late August, marking the return of jet service to the airport after more than 20 years.
These new routes reflect airlines’ strategic moves to tap into growing markets and meet increasing passenger demand. Whether it’s Air Serbia’s new destinations in China, Condor’s return to Thailand, T’Way’s European expansion, or other recent launches, travelers can look forward to enhanced connectivity and more options for long-haul travel as the airline industry continues to adapt and expand.
