Air Serbia has officially welcomed its third Airbus A330-200 during a special ceremony at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG). The event was attended by key officials, including Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, and Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek.

The new Airbus A330-200 features an eye-catching EXPO 2027 livery as part of the airline’s promotion for the upcoming global exhibition set to take place in Belgrade from May 15, 2024, to August 15, 2027. An Air Serbia spokesperson remarked, “The aircraft, adorned with the special visual identity of EXPO 2027, will further strengthen the fleet and the long-haul operations of the Serbian national carrier,” highlighting the significance of the event for Serbia and the region.

Manufactured in 2014, this latest addition to Air Serbia’s fleet has a two-class seating configuration, featuring 22 Business Class seats and 240 in Economy. The aircraft, registered as OE-LAC, is equipped with Rolls-Royce engines, a 60-meter wingspan, and measures approximately 59 meters in length. It was previously operated by Etihad Airways and Air Belgium.

Air Serbia intends to utilize the Airbus A330-200 on long-haul routes, including flights to Chicago, New York, Tianjin, and Guangzhou. The airline also anticipates the arrival of a fourth Airbus A330-200 later this year, which will carry the EXPO 2027 visual design.

In June 2024, Air Serbia completed the renewal of its regional fleet with the addition of its tenth ATR 72-600 aircraft. The latest ATR, registered YU-ASC, marks the culmination of the Serbian flag carrier’s modernization and expansion efforts that began in January 2022.

As of now, Air Serbia’s active fleet comprises ten A319-100s, three A320-200s, three ATR 72-200s, ten ATR 72-600s, and three Airbus A330-200s, positioning the airline for enhanced service and connectivity in the region and beyond.
