Air Transat Expands Service to Martinique and Adds New Routes for Summer 2025

Air Transat has confirmed plans to extend its Montreal–Fort-de-France route through the summer months as part of its summer 2025 schedule. The service, which currently operates four times per week during the winter, will continue with weekly flights in the summer to Martinique. This expansion aims to reduce seasonality and strengthen ties between Canada and the Caribbean.

Selva Veragou, senior director of network planning and strategy at Air Transat, highlighted the steady demand between Canada and Martinique. “We’ve seen steady demand between Canada and Martinique, and this service allows us to strengthen the ties between Canada and Antilles,” she told Aviation Week.

The expansion was welcomed by Valerie Cesarine, commercial director at Martinique International Airport, who emphasized the importance of securing year-round service from a key regional carrier.

Air Transat’s summer 2025 schedule will also feature over 275 weekly nonstop flights to more than 40 destinations, including new Montreal-Valencia and Toronto-Berlin routes. The airline’s A321LR aircraft will operate these services, with Toronto-Berlin becoming the longest A321LR route at 4,038 miles, enhancing the airline’s presence in the German market and strengthening its partnership with Porter Airlines.

With operations to Berlin scheduled twice a week from June 19 through October 24, Air Transat is tapping into the previously unserved market, which saw about 36,000 indirect passengers traveling between Toronto and Berlin in 2023.

In addition to the Berlin route, Air Transat will offer connections via Toronto to other Canadian destinations, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, and Vancouver, through its collaboration with Porter Airlines.

Veragou also noted that Air Transat continues to explore unserved and underserved long-haul routes, targeting thin routes using the A321LRs. With 19 A321LR aircraft in its fleet, Air Transat is well-equipped to further expand its global network.
