airBaltic has officially launched a new direct route between Tallinn, Estonia, and Reykjavik, Iceland, marking its second destination in Iceland after long-standing service from Riga. The inaugural flight departed Tallinn Airport (TLL) at 00:35 on June 18, 2025, and landed at Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport (KEF) just over three hours later. Operated by an Airbus A220-300, this new connection spans 2,485 kilometers.

The Tallinn–Reykjavik service will run twice weekly through August 2025, with departures from Tallinn on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and return flights from Reykjavik on Thursdays and Sundays. The route is part of airBaltic’s broader seasonal network expansion from its Tallinn base, which now includes 22 direct routes during the summer season.

airBaltic is deploying its all-A220 fleet for the route, offering passengers both economy and business class options, as well as free high-speed SpaceX Starlink Wi-Fi—making airBaltic the first European carrier to offer such inflight connectivity.

“Tallinn is one of our core bases, and this new service strengthens Estonia’s connectivity while also attracting inbound tourism to the Baltic region,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic.

The airline has also unveiled new winter destinations launching in late 2025, including Faro and Madeira from the Baltics and increased frequencies to Dubai and Amsterdam. In total, airBaltic operates close to 130 routes across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.

With 50 Airbus A220-300s already in service and 50 more on order, airBaltic is rapidly expanding its footprint as a key player in European regional aviation.
