Airbnb Launches Revamped App with New Services

Airbnb is entering the summer travel season with a redesigned mobile app and a host of new features aimed at redefining the way people plan and experience their trips. With the launch of Airbnb Services and an expansion of Airbnb Experiences, the platform is positioning itself as more than just a place to book a stay.

According to Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky, this shift is a return to the brand’s innovative roots. “Seventeen years ago, we changed the way people travel. More than two billion guests later, Airbnb is synonymous with a place to stay. With the launch of services and experiences, we’re changing travel again. Now you can Airbnb more than an Airbnb,” Chesky said.

The redesigned Airbnb app enhances both the guest and host experience. A new Explore Tab helps travelers discover homes in top destinations, along with personalized experiences and on-demand services. The updated Trip Tab presents a complete itinerary, consolidating booking details for accommodations, experiences, and services. Messaging has also improved, now allowing users to share photos, videos, and make secure payments directly in-app. Additionally, travelers can now create shareable profiles to showcase their travel history and the people they’ve met along the way.

Airbnb Services debuts with 10 core offerings available in up to 260 cities. These services include customized in-home meals by professional chefs, photography sessions, therapeutic massages, spa treatments, and personal training. Beauty and grooming offerings such as hairstyling, makeup, nails, and full-service catering are also part of the lineup. Each service is performed by vetted professionals and tailored to guests’ individual preferences.

Airbnb Experiences has also been reimagined and is now live in 650 cities worldwide. Hosted by locals, the new experiences offer more meaningful ways to engage with destinations. Travelers can book landmark tours, cultural visits, cooking classes, outdoor activities, wellness sessions, art workshops, and more. Each experience is reviewed for authenticity, expertise, and quality to ensure memorable interactions that go beyond sightseeing.

The company is also unveiling Airbnb Originals, which features curated experiences in partnership with high-profile figures such as Megan Thee Stallion, Sabrina Carpenter, and Patrick Mahomes. These collaborations are designed to spotlight exceptional hosts and provide unique offerings exclusive to the platform.

As summer travel picks up, Airbnb’s upgraded app and new services aim to create a more connected, immersive travel journey. By merging stays, services, and experiences into one seamless ecosystem, Airbnb is tapping into travelers’ growing desire for convenience, authenticity, and personalization in every aspect of their trip.
