Airbus and Turkish Airlines Nearing Major A321 and A350 Aircraft Deal

Airbus, the European aerospace corporation, announced on Monday Nov. 13 that it is on the brink of finalizing a significant aircraft order with Turkish Airlines. The deal, still in the process of ratification, is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, according to an Airbus spokesperson.

This development follows a report by Turkey’s Anadolu news agency, which detailed that Turkish Airlines held negotiations with Airbus on Saturday regarding a substantial order for 355 new jets. These discussions, which took place in Istanbul, indicate a major expansion and modernization plan for the airline’s fleet.

The potential agreement includes Turkish Airlines acquiring 75 wide-body A350-900 and 15 A350-1000 aircraft. The deal also encompasses an order for 250 narrow-body A321neo aircraft, along with five A350F cargo aircraft. This is in addition to an existing agreement for 10 A350-900s, terms of which have already been settled.
