Airbus Helicopters Reports 9% Increase in Annual Orders, Slight Rise in Deliveries

Airbus Helicopters has recorded a 9% growth in net orders for the past year, while deliveries showed a slight increase. This comes as the civil aviation market continues to grapple with challenges in returning to pre-COVID levels.

As the world’s leading commercial helicopter manufacturer, Airbus Helicopters secured 393 net orders in 2023, compared to 362 in the previous year, or 410 gross orders before accounting for cancellations. Meanwhile, the company successfully delivered 346 helicopters, up from 344 in the previous year. This boost in deliveries has contributed to Airbus Helicopters’ expanded share of the civil and parapublic market, which now stands at 54%, up from 52% the previous year.

The helicopters division of Airbus (AIR.PA) attributes the increase in orders to heightened military demand. Notably, the company secured a significant contract in December for up to 82 H145M light attack helicopters from Germany.

Full details of Airbus Helicopters’ annual performance for the year will be unveiled on February 15th. Stay tuned for more updates.
