Airbus Tianjin final assembly line delivers first A321neo

Airbus has delivered an A321neo to China’s Juneyao Air based in Tianjin, China. The aircraft is the first A321neo to be assembled at Airbus’ Final Assembly Line Asia (FAL Tianjin).

The A321neo is powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines and features 207 comfortable seats, with eight distributed in Business class and 199 in Economy class. In support of China’s green aviation strategy, the aircraft’s delivery flight will use a 10% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend.

“Since we announced the commissioning of the first A321 aircraft at FAL Tianjin last November, the relevant final assembly activities and tests went on smoothly, showcasing the maturity of FAL Tianjin to quickly adapt to new products,” said George Xu, Executive Vice President, Airbus and CEO, Airbus China. “The successful delivery of the first A321 aircraft enables Airbus to honour the popularity of the aircraft for the China market and beyond – and the consistent trust and support from our customers.”

The Tianjin FAL facility is one of four A320 family FAL facilities around the world, which include Hamburg, Germany; Toulouse, France; and Mobile, United States. Since its inauguration in 2008, the Tianjin FAL has delivered more than 600 aircraft.
