AirExplore Nears Full Fleet Lease Ahead of Summer 2025

Slovakia’s largest airline, AirExplore, is forecasting a strong 2025 summer season, with nearly all of its Boeing 737-800 fleet already leased to European airline clients. As part of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, AirExplore is playing a key role in helping airlines manage rising demand during peak travel months.

The airline confirmed that seven of its eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft are contracted for the April to November 2025 period, with only one aircraft still available for lease. Each 737-800 can carry up to 189 passengers, offering airlines the flexibility to scale operations without the long-term burden of aircraft ownership.

As travel demand rebounds globally, ACMI leasing has become a preferred solution for many carriers. According to IATA projections, global passenger traffic is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 3.8% over the next two decades, reaching 7.9 billion passenger journeys by 2043. For 2025, passenger numbers in Europe alone are forecasted to rise by 4.3% year-over-year, largely driven by international arrivals.

To accommodate this growth, airlines are increasingly turning to ACMI providers to supplement capacity. AirExplore offers both wet-lease (aircraft with full crew) and damp-lease (aircraft with flight crew only) options, giving partners the flexibility to meet varying operational needs. This model also allows carriers to manage costs efficiently by converting fixed expenses into variable costs and benefiting from favorable IFRS 16 leasing terms.

AirExplore CEO Martin Stulajter emphasized the company’s strong relationships and operational agility: “As we approach the busy summer season, our fleet will play a vital role in supporting our airline partners while delivering seamless travel experiences for all passengers. Every one of our clients is returning from previous seasons, reflecting the trust and reliability we’ve built.”

In addition to its cost-saving advantages, ACMI leasing with modern aircraft like the 737-800 helps airlines reduce environmental levies such as airport noise fees. This is especially critical as major airports implement stricter sustainability and cost-control measures.

With flexible leasing terms and proven operational reliability, AirExplore is well-positioned to support the European aviation sector through a high-demand summer travel season, while continuing to expand its presence in the ACMI market.
