Airlec Retires Last Citation I/SP Amid Fleet Updates

France’s Airlec has retired its sole Citation I/SP, marking a shift in its operational fleet. The aircraft, registered as F-HFRA (msn 501-0044), completed its final flights under Airlec’s ‘ARL’ code on September 24, 2024, operating between Dijon and Bordeaux Mérignac.
In late October, the 47-year-old jet traveled to Uvalde Garner Field, Texas, via stops at Shannon, Wick, Reykjavik Domestic, Bangor International, and Nashville John C. Tune airports. It was officially deregistered in France on December 9 and re-registered in the United States as N61HA on December 10. The aircraft has yet to commence operations under its new registration.
Airlec now operates a diverse fleet, including one Citation II, two BAe-125-1000Bs, a Hawker 900XP, a Falcon 900EX, and two Swearingen Metroliner SA-226-T(B)s under its French Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC). The company recently added a second Falcon 900EX and also owns a Mooney M20K for general aviation purposes.
In October 2024, Airlec announced a partnership with fellow aviation operator VallJet, creating a joint brand known as DexFly. This collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency and expand service offerings, including private jet charters and air ambulance services.
The retirement of the Citation I/SP reflects Airlec’s focus on modernizing its fleet and strengthening its position in the competitive aviation services market.
