Flyadeal Launches New Domestic Routes from Dammam
Saudi Arabia’s flyadeal will expand its domestic network with three new routes from Dammam starting January 2025. Daily flights to Najran and 4X-weekly flights to Tabuk will launch on January 1, 2025, while 3X-weekly flights to Yanbu will start on January 2. CEO Steve Greenway emphasized the airline’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Eastern Province by increasing frequencies and adding new destinations connected to the region’s capital, Dammam.

Flydubai and Batik Air Expand Connectivity with New Interline Agreement
Flydubai and Batik Air have entered an interline agreement, enhancing connectivity between the UAE, Malaysia, and beyond. The agreement provides flydubai passengers with access to over 40 destinations in Southeast Asia, including Jakarta, Osaka, and Sydney via Kuala Lumpur. In return, Batik Air passengers can travel to 38 flydubai destinations, such as Entebbe, Milan-Bergamo, and Prague.

Volotea Launches Barcelona-Ancona Route
Spanish carrier Volotea has launched a new route connecting Barcelona with Ancona, Italy, operating twice a week. The service makes Barcelona the second international destination served from Ancona, following Paris Orly. Valeria Rebasti, international market director at Volotea, highlighted the importance of these international connections in boosting tourism and providing new opportunities for growth.

AirAsia Cambodia Launches First International Route
AirAsia Cambodia has begun its inaugural international service between Siem Reap and Singapore, marking the airline’s first international route. The 4X-weekly service will enhance connectivity between Singapore and Cambodia, with Vissoth Nam, CEO of AirAsia Cambodia, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to offering affordable travel options for passengers from ASEAN and beyond.

Cebu Pacific to Start Manila-Sapporo Flights
Cebu Pacific is set to begin direct flights between Manila and Sapporo on January 16, 2025. The 3X-weekly service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, significantly reducing travel time to about five hours. Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific’s president and CCO, expressed excitement about offering Filipinos the opportunity to experience Sapporo’s winter charm.

Jazeera Airways Relaunches Flights to Bhairahawa, Nepal
Jazeera Airways has relaunched direct flights from Kuwait to Bhairahawa, Nepal, marking its second destination in Nepal. The airline will operate 3X-weekly flights to Bhairahawa, complementing its daily service to Kathmandu. This move comes amid a growing demand for travel between Kuwait and Nepal, driven by a new agreement between the governments of both countries, expected to bring an additional 200,000 Nepali workers to Kuwait.

These new routes and partnerships reflect airlines’ continued efforts to expand their networks and enhance connectivity for passengers worldwide.
