Airlines ask Canadian government to drop testing mandate

Air Canada joined with aviation stakeholders in urging the Canadian government to lift COVID-19 testing requirements for arriving international air passengers because tests are scarce for people who are at risk for severe illness and those who work in sensitive settings. “As the government has ramped up testing at airports for international arrivals, we have seen frontline workers struggle to get PCR tests and lab processing capacity decrease significantly,” airlines and a major airport said in a letter.
