Airlines continue to add routes but capacity remains down

Airlines continue to add routes where they see demand, such as United increasing service to Grand Junction, Colo., and Hawaiian Airlines adding new nonstop flights from Honolulu to Austin, Texas; Orlando, Fla.; and Ontario, Calif. Overall traffic remains significantly depressed, however; American Airlines said it would operate at about 45% of 2019 capacity in January.
