Airlines prepare for continued recovery in 2022
The International Air Transport Association reported that the global airline industry expects to lose nearly $12 billion in 2022, but noted that is an improvement from $51.8 billion in red ink currently predicted for 2021 and $137.7 billion in net losses for 2020. Carriers are preparing for continued improvement in 2022, including the return of business and international travel. Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian explained at the IATA annual meeting that “business traffic is growing back in the US.”
