Indian low-fare carrier, Akasa Air, has expanded its domestic reach with the latest launch of three new routes: Mumbai to Kolkata and Pune to Dehli and Goa.

With the launch of these new routes, Akasa Air is steadily enhancing its route connectivity and working towards its goal of making flying accessible for all across the Indian subcontinent.

With the new Mumbai route, it has connected Kolkata with three major cities: Mumbai, Bengaluru and Guwahati – the newest destination forming part of the airline’s plans to enhance its route connectivity. The airline is planning to fly between Mumbai and Kolkata once a day.

Pune to Dehli and Goa will also be operated once daily, taking the total number of destinations served from Pune Airport to four.

A total of 12 domestic destinations from Mumbai are now served by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737 MAXs. The carrier has since ordered more of the aircraft type at the Paris Airshow 2023, adding four more aircraft to its original order of 72, rounding the total up to 76.

Commenting on the new routes, Akasa Air’s co-founder and CCO, Praveen Iyer, said: “We are delighted to be able to optimise our network in line with our vision. The launch of new routes as well as additional flights will offer customers enhanced air connectivity at affordable prices, and we are confident that travellers across the country will appreciate the choice of flying India’s most dependable airline.”
