Akasa Air pilots are in for a substantial salary boost as the airline raises their pay by 40%. The move comes amidst a period of significant growth in the Indian airline industry, with multiple carriers expanding their fleets. The recent aircraft orders made by IndiGo and Air India underscore the intense competition to attract and retain pilots. In response to the escalating demand for skilled aviators, Akasa Air has announced a surge in its order for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Additionally, Air India and SpiceJet have already increased salaries and benefits for their pilots earlier this year. The new salaries for Akasa Air pilots will be effective from July 1, 2023, accompanied by a reduction in base hours, providing the opportunity for pilots to potentially earn higher salaries through increased flying hours.
