Alaska Air Group Announces Leadership Changes at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air

Alaska Air Group is making significant leadership changes across its mainline and regional operations. The company announced that the current President of Horizon Air will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Alaska Air Group, while the Senior Vice President of People at Alaska Airlines will step into the role of Horizon Air President and CEO. Both transitions will take effect in November.
The executive reshuffle is aimed at strengthening coordination between Alaska Airlines and its regional subsidiary Horizon Air. By moving senior leaders between the two carriers, Alaska Air Group says it expects to improve operational alignment, employee engagement, and customer experience across its network.
Alaska Air Group operates Alaska Airlines, a major U.S. carrier with a strong presence on the West Coast, and Horizon Air, a regional airline that feeds Alaska’s mainline flights with Embraer E175 and other regional aircraft. The leadership transition reflects the company’s strategy of tighter integration between its mainline and regional teams as it expands capacity and faces a competitive labor and operational environment.
In a statement, Alaska Air Group emphasized that the November changes will position the organization for its next phase of growth while maintaining the distinctive culture and service standards of both airlines.
