Alaska Airlines Partners with CLEAR to Enhance Travel Experience for Loyalty Program Members

Alaska Airlines has teamed up with CLEAR, a trusted identity verification company, to offer its loyalty program members a smoother and more secure travel experience. The airline recently announced that Mileage Plan members can now enjoy a discounted enrollment in CLEAR Plus, a service designed to expedite travelers through airport security, along with bonus miles for a limited time.

CLEAR Plus is an optional program that enables members to verify their identity using their eyes or fingerprint at dedicated lanes in 52 airports nationwide, eliminating the need to present their ID and boarding pass. This streamlined process not only saves time but also reduces contact at the security checkpoint. Once verified, CLEAR ambassadors guide members to the physical screening area.

Alaska Airlines views the partnership with CLEAR as a testament to its commitment to prioritize the well-being and convenience of its guests, aiming to enhance their overall travel experience. The airline recognizes the existing popularity of CLEAR Plus among its frequent flyers and anticipates a positive response from a wider range of travelers who will benefit from this valuable travel perk.

Shane Jones, the Vice President of Real Estate and Business Development at Alaska Airlines, expressed the airline’s dedication to providing exceptional care to its guests, including improving their travel journey. Jones stated, “We understand from our guests how important it is for them to have the best possible experience when traveling with us, and part of that is saving time when they’re at the airport.”

All Mileage Plan members can take advantage of the discounted rate of $179 per year to enroll in CLEAR Plus by visiting clearme.com/alaska. Furthermore, elite Mileage Plan members (MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K, and MVP Gold 100K) who enroll will receive an additional 1,500 Mileage Plan bonus miles. Elite Mileage Plan members who renew their existing CLEAR Plus membership and link it to their Mileage Plan account will receive a yearly total of 1,250 miles upon renewal.

To celebrate the launch of the partnership, all Mileage Plan members, both elite and non-elite, who enroll in a new CLEAR Plus membership before July 16, 2023, will receive a bonus of 1,000 Mileage Plan miles.

Kasra Moshkani, the Executive Vice President of Operations at CLEAR, expressed excitement about providing Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan members with the assurance and predictability of CLEAR Plus. Moshkani added, “We look forward to expanding our partnership with Alaska to continue unlocking seamless experiences for their frequent flyers from home to gate and beyond.”
