Alaska Airlines has introduced a new livery design featuring a Seattle Kraken theme, just in time for the 2024-2025 National Hockey League (NHL) season, which kicked off on October 4, 2024. As the official sponsor of the Seattle Kraken, the airline’s latest Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft showcases the team logo and the coordinates of Climate Pledge Arena, the Kraken’s home arena.

The aircraft, bearing the tail number #N933AK, pays tribute to Seattle’s 93.3 KJR FM, the local sports radio station that serves as the home for Kraken broadcasts. Alaska Airlines has announced that this themed aircraft will be flying across its network throughout the 2024-2026 NHL seasons.

Eric Edge, Managing Director of Marketing and Advertising at Alaska Airlines, expressed excitement about the new design, stating, “As the official airline of the Seattle Kraken, we’re thrilled to reveal a new design to celebrate our hometown’s NHL team. Whether at 30,000 feet or on the ice, we’ll be cheering the Kraken on this season!”

To engage fans and customers as the NHL season progresses, Alaska Airlines has launched several promotions. Notably, whenever the Seattle Kraken scores five goals in a home game, fans can enjoy a 32% discount on flights to a mystery destination. This initiative aims to create an exciting atmosphere for both hockey fans and travelers.

Additionally, throughout the hockey season, passengers departing from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) or Everett Paine Field (PAE) wearing Seattle Kraken jerseys will receive priority boarding, adding to the experience for fans traveling to support their team.

With these initiatives and the vibrant new livery, Alaska Airlines is not only enhancing its connection to the Seattle Kraken but also fostering a sense of community among fans as they travel to and from games. The partnership exemplifies the airline’s commitment to celebrating local sports and engaging with its customers in creative ways.
