All-business French airline La Compagnie is gearing up for further growth.

Sources at the airline confirmed to AeroTime that the airline is currently working on the acquisition of two additional Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Doubling its fleet will allow the boutique carrier, which currently operates two aircraft of the same type, to strengthen its current three routes, which connect New York (Newark – EWR) to Paris Orly (ORY), Milan Malpensa (MXP) and, during the summer season, Nice-Côte d’Azur (NCE).

La Compagnie also aims to launch a new route within the next two years.

In the fiscal year 2021/22, the airline posted its first profit since its launch in 2014. This was thanks to solid load factors following the re-opening of America’s borders post-COVID.

Last year La Compagnie averaged load factors of around 75%, which reached up to 80% during the summer season. The seasonal Nice to New York route did particularly well, getting up to 85%.

As per the profile of travelers, according to the airline, it shows a healthy balance between American leisure and European business travelers.

La Compagnie’s A321neos are configured with 76 business class lie-flat seats, on a 2-2 layout.
