All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced that it will equip its next generation of long-haul cabins with RECARO’s R4 Premium Class and R3 Economy Class seats. The decision was revealed during the Aircraft Interiors Expo held in Hamburg, Germany, from April 8-10, 2025. The airline plans to begin rolling out these new seats in the 2026 fiscal year, with a focus on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, typically used for international routes.

The new RECARO seats will offer enhanced comfort for passengers, including an expanded seat pitch of 40 inches in the R4 Premium Class and between 33 and 34 inches in the R3 Economy Class. These improvements are expected to elevate the flying experience, especially on long-haul journeys.

In addition to comfort, the lightweight design of the R4 and R3 seats will contribute to a reduction in the overall weight of the aircraft, offering significant savings in fuel consumption and a decrease in CO2 emissions. The seats will also be equipped with modern amenities such as USB-C charging ports and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling seamless wireless integration with the aircraft’s in-flight entertainment system and passengers’ personal electronic devices.

ANA’s investment in these advanced seat models reflects its ongoing commitment to improving passenger comfort and sustainability on its international flights.
