Amazon has partnered with the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI) to offer drone training and certification to its hourly employees through the company’s Career Choice program. The initiative provides pre-paid tuition for in-demand skills, helping Amazon employees grow their careers both within and outside the company.

With this partnership, employees will gain access to USI’s industry-recognized drone safety education, including certification programs aligned with ASTM international standards. USI is a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) training, having certified more than 20,000 remote pilots.

“We are thrilled to partner with Amazon,” said Josh Olds, CEO of USI. “This collaboration empowers employees with the skills needed for safe and effective drone operations across today’s workforce.”

The Career Choice program is part of Amazon’s $1.2 billion investment to upskill more than 300,000 U.S. employees by 2025. It includes a wide range of learning opportunities—from GEDs and English language proficiency to industry certifications and college degrees.

Tammy Thieman, Director of Career Development Programs at Amazon, added, “We’re excited to welcome USI to our network of top-tier education partners. We’re committed to helping our employees access valuable training that leads to meaningful career growth.”

USI’s drone certification programs support careers in a rapidly growing sector, serving students, veterans, and professionals seeking advancement in unmanned aviation.

Amazon’s Career Choice has already supported over 250,000 employees worldwide. With USI’s drone training now included, the program continues to expand its offerings to meet evolving job market demands.
