American Airlines Boosts Regional Fleet with Seven More Bombardier Jets
American Airlines has announced that it will add seven more Bombardier CRJ 900 NextGen aircraft to its regional fleet. The new planes will be operated by PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group.
The seven jets will be delivered over the coming months, bringing PSA’s total aircraft count to 141. The carrier currently operates 61 CRJ 700s and 80 CRJ 900s on behalf of American Airlines under the American Eagle brand.
The CRJ 900 NextGen is a regional jet that can seat up to 90 passengers in a two-class configuration. The aircraft features a spacious cabin, large windows, LED lighting, and ample overhead bin space. The jet also offers improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced noise compared to older models.
American Airlines said that the addition of the new planes reflects its continued investment in PSA and its premium regional service offerings. The airline also said that the new jets will enhance its ability to cater to its expanding customer base with increased comfort, reliability, and efficiency.
PSA Airlines is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and has flight crew bases in Dayton, Washington D.C., Charlotte, North Carolina, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The carrier operates more than 800 daily flights to nearly 100 destinations across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.
