American Airlines brings back 24-hour booking and extends cargo services
If you like to travel but cannot fully commit, you will be pleased with this news. American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) has brought back its free 24-hour booking hold option for its customers.
According to the American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) website, this feature is available on select markets booked via aa.com and at least seven days prior to the date of departure. When customers select their flights for booking, they are presented with an option to hold the booking on the ‘Review and Pay’ page.
Once customers have had a chance to mull over their held booking for 24 hours, they can continue to finalize the transaction. If the flights are not purchased within the given time, it is automatically canceled without a fee.
An airline spokesperson told USA Today that if a customer needs to hold a booking for more than 24 hours, they can pay a non-refundable fee to extend the hold.
“We continue to evaluate our product offerings to customers on aa.com and understand customers may need flexibility when booking travel plans,” the spokesperson said.
