American Airlines extends alcohol sales ban into 2022

American Airlines is extending its pandemic-prompted ban on sales of alcohol to main cabin passengers until Jan. 18, 2022 at the earliest. The airline previously extended the ban, which it initiated early in the pandemic, following a rise in incidents involving disruptive passengers. Southwest Airlines has also ceased alcohol sales during flights, although it has not announced a date when the service will resume.
