American Airlines Unveils 50 New Routes for Summer 2024, Including Three New European Destinations
American Airlines is significantly expanding its flight network in the summer of 2024, with the announcement of 50 new routes, including the addition of three new European destinations. The airline will commence new nonstop services from Philadelphia (PHL) to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH); Naples, Italy (NAP); and Nice, France (NCE).
Additionally, American Airlines is launching new service between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Barcelona, Spain (BCN), and reinstating flights between Chicago (ORD) and Venice, Italy (VCE). This expansion is part of the airline’s largest European expansion in four years and its largest trans-Atlantic expansion since 2019.
Brian Znotins, American Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, expressed excitement about the addition of these new European destinations. He emphasized that the new services from Philadelphia, along with the expanded trans-Atlantic service from Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth, will provide customers with convenient one-stop access from over 200 unique destinations across the U.S. to Europe. The airline is set to offer 15 daily nonstop flights from Philadelphia to 14 European destinations next summer, marking its largest trans-Atlantic schedule from the city since 2019.
