American Airlines Unveils New Admirals Club at Newark Airport
American Airlines has opened a new Admirals Club lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal A, offering a comfortable and stylish space for travelers to relax before their flights. The lounge, which is the second to feature the airline’s new design concept, reflects the local culture and history of Newark and New Jersey.
The lounge is located on the mezzanine level near gates A7 and A8, and has a seating capacity for 137 guests. The lounge has windows with views of the airfield, and a variety of seating options, including cafe chairs, bar stools, soft seating, booth seating, high top tables, and a communal table. There is also a cozy fireplace area for guests to enjoy.
The lounge features several design elements that pay tribute to Newark and New Jersey, such as metal frames inspired by bridge construction in New York, unique lighting and exposed lightbulbs that evoke Thomas Edison and his home in New Jersey, and brick walls in the dining area that nod to Newark’s nickname of “Brick City”. The lounge also has local nature-inspired art, including Newark cherry blossoms from Branch Brook Park.
The lounge offers enhanced food and beverage options for guests, including complimentary Wi-Fi, personal charging outlets, wireless smartphone charging pads, and a business center. The food selection includes breakfast items such as Belgian waffles and quiche tartlets, and all-day options such as pastrami sliders, falafel served with cucumber tzatziki, quinoa, kale and edamame salad, antipasto salad, meats and cheeses, and desserts such as black and white cookies and macarons. The bar offers a regional signature cocktail called American Trilogy, and a locally inspired Bloody Mary cocktail made with New Jersey tomatoes. Guests can also choose from grab-and-go items such as Farmer’s Pantry Cornbread Crisps and Bobo’s Strawberry Oat Bites.
The new Admirals Club at Newark Airport is part of American Airlines’ ongoing investment in enhancing its customer experience. The airline plans to open more lounges with the new design concept in the future.
