American Cruise Lines will debut three new Great Lakes itineraries in 2026, giving travelers the chance to explore this iconic region without needing a passport. The new sailings will be offered aboard the 130-guest American Patriot from May through August and will feature exclusively U.S. destinations. Each cruise includes a pre-cruise hotel stay, complimentary domestic airfare, and guided excursions in small towns along the route.

The company’s president and CEO, Charles B. Robertson, highlighted strong demand for this expansion, noting that guests have long requested American Cruise Lines’ signature small-ship style of cruising on the Great Lakes. These new itineraries aim to deliver a fully domestic yet diverse experience across several states.

Among the offerings is the nine-day “Great Lakes & Thousand Islands” itinerary between Syracuse, New York, and Cleveland, Ohio, with departures on May 22, May 29, June 5, and August 27, 2026. Another option, the nine-day “Lake Michigan & Upper Peninsula” voyage, sails roundtrip from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with departures on June 24, July 1, August 1, and August 8, 2026.

For those seeking a longer journey, the 14-day “American Great Lakes” itinerary will run between Cleveland and Milwaukee, taking guests across Lakes Erie, Huron, and Michigan. Departures are set for June 12, July 8, July 20, and August 15, 2026. Additional sailings for all itineraries are already scheduled into 2027, ensuring travelers multiple opportunities to experience these new Great Lakes adventures.
