American Express continues to elevate the travel experience with its Centurion Lounges, now available at 15 major U.S. airports. These premium lounges, exclusive to select American Express cardholders, including The Platinum Card® from American Express, offer a luxurious retreat for travelers seeking comfort and convenience before their flights.

Centurion Lounges provide a host of amenities designed to enhance the passenger experience. Members enjoy access to ample electrical outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, personal workspaces, large flat-screen TVs, and premium bars. Unlike typical airport lounges, Centurion Lounges encourage guests to relax and linger, making them ideal for both work and leisure.

One of the standout features of Centurion Lounges is their exceptional food offerings. Each lounge features unique culinary presentations crafted by local celebrity chefs. For instance, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) lounge offers Southern-inspired modern cuisine by Gregory Collier of Leah & Louise fame, including cheddar cheese stone-ground grits available at all mealtimes. In Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), guests can savor Southwestern dishes like Texas mole with chicken and jalapeño cream corn, created by Dean Fearing, chef at Fearing’s at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas.

Beverage selections are equally impressive, with each lounge boasting signature cocktails tailored to the host city. At CLT, mixologist Jim Meehan has engineered cocktails that reflect the local culture, while at Denver International Airport (DEN), the Cold Byrrh cocktail combines Avery Liliko’I Kepolo wheat beer with Byrrh Grand Quinquina and Leopold Bros. Rocky Mountain Blackberry Liqueur.

Beyond dining and drinks, Centurion Lounges offer additional amenities such as live-action chef stations, spa services, and wellness spaces. The Dallas/Fort Worth lounge features an Exhale spa offering complimentary 12-minute massages, while the Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) lounge includes a health and wellness space in partnership with Calm, the sleep and meditation app.

Each Centurion Lounge is thoughtfully designed to reflect its location. The Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) lounge, the first ever, features expansive spaces that were doubled in size in 2020, including a dedicated whiskey bar and outdoor terraces with integrated heaters and fans. Similarly, the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) lounge in New York City offers a two-story, 15,000-square-foot space with a speakeasy and specialty coffee bar, alongside a stunning two-story meta-lighting fixture inspired by the Potomac River.

American Express Centurion Lounges also emphasize local art and culture. The Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) lounge showcases artwork by Haitian American artist Harold Caudio and offers scenic views of the Olympic Mountains, while the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) lounge features original San Francisco–inspired paintings by Taiwanese American artist Tracie Cheng.

Membership to these lounges comes at no additional cost to cardholders who possess select premium American Express cards, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express, which carries an annual fee of $695. Enrollment may be required for certain benefits and offers, and interested travelers can visit americanexpress.com for more information.

The Centurion Lounge network has grown significantly since its debut in 2013 in Las Vegas, now boasting 29 locations globally with 15 in the United States. Each lounge aims to provide a seamless and luxurious pre-flight experience, making American Express cardholders feel valued and pampered.

As American Express continues to expand its Centurion Lounge offerings, travelers can expect even more enhancements and new locations, ensuring that premium service and exceptional amenities are always within reach. Whether for business or leisure, Centurion Lounges offer a sophisticated sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of airport terminals, setting a new standard for airline lounge experiences.
