Amtrak BOGO Deal for Travel to DC for Vietnam War Anniversary

Amtrak has announced it’s offering a new buy one, get one sale for travel to Washington, D.C. for the upcoming “Welcome Home!” events to honor Vietnam veterans and their families.

The ceremonies are scheduled for May 11-13 on the National Mall to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. To celebrate, active-duty U.S. military personnel, their dependents and veterans can buy one adult fare and get 50 percent off a companion fare now through May 15.

Eligible travel dates are May 9 through May 15 for travel on the Northeast Regional, Acela and the Vermonter to and from Washington, D.C., to Boston/Springfield, Massachusetts, and cities in between.

Customers can use promo code C429 when booking in the Amtrak app to take advantage of the sale, which is valid for travel in Coach and Acela Business class.

“Amtrak is committed to supporting and honoring those who have served our country,” Amtrak President Roger Harris said in a statement. “We understand the significance of this tribute to thank Vietnam War veterans and are proud to offer this sale to make travel more accessible for those attending the Washington, D.C., events.”
