Angola Boosts State Fleet with New Global 7500

The Government of Angola has recently expanded its state fleet with the addition of a brand-new Bombardier Global 7500, further enhancing its ultra-long-range capabilities for official missions and state visits. Registered in San Marino as T7-ANG (msn 70199), the aircraft is operated by Global Jet Aruba on behalf of the Angolan government. This strategic acquisition reinforces Angola’s commitment to modernizing its government aviation resources and ensuring seamless connectivity for its high-level operations.
Before its current registration in San Marino, the Global 7500 was briefly registered in the United States under the registration N127W. The aircraft first became active on February 12, 2025, when it flew from Hartford Bradley International Airport to Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg in Switzerland. Just four days later, the jet took to the skies again, this time heading to Cascais, Portugal. The new livery proudly displays Angola’s flag, coat of arms, and the titles “República de Angola,” symbolizing national pride and the government’s commitment to excellence in aviation.
This latest addition marks a significant upgrade in Angola’s government fleet. Previously, the Angolan government operated another Global 7500, registered as LX-JET (msn 70166) and managed by Global Jet Luxembourg. That aircraft, operating under the callsign “ANGOLA1” on at least three separate occasions during 2024, served as a key asset for state travel and official duties. With the introduction of T7-ANG, the government is further diversifying its fleet with state-of-the-art aircraft that promise enhanced performance, comfort, and range for long-haul government missions.
Global Jet Group, the operator behind these sophisticated jets, now manages multiple Global 7500 aircraft across several jurisdictions. In addition to the San Marino-registered Global 7500 now serving Angola, the group oversees two units registered in Austria, two in Luxembourg, and one in Switzerland. This international presence and expertise in managing ultra-long-range jets ensure that the Angolan government benefits from best-in-class maintenance and operational standards.
Alongside the new Global 7500, Angola’s state fleet already includes a Global Express, a Global Express XRS, and a Falcon 900B, all of which are registered within the country. Additionally, a Boeing 787-8 (BBJ), registered as 2-DEER (msn 35309) and owned by Sonair— a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company Sonangol—supports state visits for President João Lourenço. This diversified fleet underlines the government’s commitment to efficient and reliable air travel for both diplomatic and official engagements.
The decision to expand the government fleet with a new Global 7500 reflects Angola’s broader strategy of investing in modern, reliable aviation solutions that cater to the nation’s unique operational needs. With improved range, comfort, and performance, the Global 7500 is set to play a crucial role in enhancing state connectivity, enabling smoother international travel, and supporting Angola’s growing presence on the global stage.
This fleet expansion not only benefits high-level officials and state functions but also reinforces Angola’s reputation for investing in advanced aerospace technology. As the nation continues to modernize its government operations, the addition of the Global 7500 underscores a long-term vision for excellence in state aviation and a commitment to serving the nation with world-class assets.
