Archer Midnigh eVTOL Paris

Archer Aviation’s innovative eVTOL aircraft, Midnight, is set to make its highly anticipated European debut at the prestigious 2023 Paris Air Show. Partnering with Stellantis, a prominent automaker and mobility provider, Archer aims to showcase their progress towards scaling up manufacturing for Midnight, preparing for its planned commercialization in 2025.

The Midnight eVTOL will undoubtedly steal the spotlight at the 54th edition of the Paris Air Show, taking center stage at the Air Mobility event held in Hall 5 at Le Bourget Airport. Stellantis is contributing its advanced manufacturing technology, expertise, skilled personnel, and capital to strengthen this partnership.

The collaboration aims to leverage the strengths and competencies of both companies to ensure the successful market launch of the Midnight aircraft at scale. Archer emphasized that this strategic alliance will facilitate rapid aircraft production to meet commercialization goals while avoiding excessive manufacturing ramp-up costs.

Being at the forefront of the eVTOL flight race, Archer has already secured a significant partnership with United Airlines to supply eVTOLs. In a recent announcement on March 23, 2023, United and Archer disclosed their plans to introduce regular air connections between Chicago O’Hare (ORD), the city’s main international airport, and Vertiport Chicago.

Midnight is designed to cover distances of up to 100 miles, with optimized back-to-back flights of 20 miles and a quick 12-minute recharge time in between. The aircraft is built to accommodate up to four passengers with luggage, along with a certified pilot, powered by six independent battery packs supporting a pair of electric engines each.

As Archer Aviation positions itself as a key player in the eVTOL industry, the upcoming Paris Air Show and its partnership with Stellantis further solidify their position as leaders in the race to secure certification for eVTOL flight.
