Argentina’s Flybondi to Wet-Lease Ten Aircraft for 2025–2026 Summer Surge

Argentina’s ultra-low-cost carrier Flybondi (FO) plans to significantly expand capacity for the upcoming southern hemisphere summer by wet-leasing ten additional aircraft between December 2025 and March 2026. The seasonal boost will support a major increase in flights and passengers during one of the airline’s busiest periods.
The fleet additions will include Airbus A320-200s and Boeing 737-800s sourced from Avion Express Brasil, Avion Express, and ETF Airways, although the airline has not disclosed the split between the providers. Seven of the incoming aircraft will be based in Buenos Aires, with the remaining three positioned in Córdoba to support high-demand domestic and regional routes.
Flybondi currently operates fourteen in-house Boeing 737-800s and one wet-leased A320-200 from Avion Express Brasil. This marks the second consecutive year the carrier has tapped European operators for narrowbodies during the off-peak season there. In 2024, it sourced aircraft from Avion Express and Spain’s AlbaStar.
According to ch-aviation data, Avion Express operates fifteen A320-200s and one A321-200, while its Maltese affiliate fields thirty-eight A320-200s and one A321-200. Avion Express Brasil has one A320, having launched operations in 2025, and Croatia’s ETF Airways operates three Boeing 737-800s.
Flybondi CEO Mauricio Sana said the extra capacity will allow the airline to increase flights by 50% over 2024 levels and carry 56% more passengers. “We aim for 2.8 million people to travel on our network this summer,” he noted, highlighting the airline’s strategy to capture record demand during the peak travel season.
