Deutsche Aircraft has announced another supplier for its D328eco programme – ASE S.p.A. The Italian company will supply the AC Primary Power Generation and Distribution Systems for the D328eco – a 38-40 seat, new-generation turboprop powered by PW127XT-s engines.

The electrical system will consist of two 25 kVA AC generators, two Generator Control Units (GCU) and two Primary Power Distribution Units (PDUs).

The system’s lightweight and compact design will work to complement the lightweight and sustainable design of the D328eco.

On the new supplier agreement, Fausto Cosentino, ASE’s Chief Business Officer, commented: “This partnership aligns with our philosophy of care towards the environment and our love for technology.”

Maximilian Fahr, Deutsche Aircraft’s Vice President of Supply Chain, highlighted the importance of the agreement with ASE, drawing attention to the importance of regional capabilities: “The regional capabilities are a key factor in the supplier selection process along with product reliability… the collaborative approach and experience will ensure compliance with the programme schedule and ramp-up,” he said.

The journey so far
This most recent supplier announcement now joins the list of several other companies – from the likes of thyssenkrupp, Acro, and Bucher Leitbau – on the D328eco programme.

The first flight test is expected in 2025, with a commercial launch following in 2026.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the programme’s Final Assembly Line took place at Leipzig/Halle Airport in May 2023. The facility will have the capacity to produce 48 D328eco aircraft a year.
