ASL Airlines UK, based at Nottingham East Midlands, has recently welcomed its newest addition, the ATR72-500(F), marked by the registration G-OASB (msn 679). This delivery marks a significant milestone for the airline, as it not only represents its third aircraft but also introduces a new aircraft type to its fleet.

The 22.1-year-old turboprop has a rich history, having previously served as a passenger aircraft under CSA Czech Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) until its retirement in 2021. Following its retirement, the aircraft underwent a transformation in Sofia, where it was converted from a passenger plane to a freighter (P2F) on March 24, 2022. The newly converted ATR72-500(F) was officially registered in the UK on October 18, 2023, marking its readiness for service with ASL Airlines UK. The ownership of the aircraft falls under ASL Aviation Holdings.

Currently, ASL Airlines UK operates a diverse fleet, including one ATR72-200(F) and one B737-800(BCF). With the introduction of the ATR72-500(F), the airline expands its capabilities and offers enhanced flexibility in cargo operations.

It’s noteworthy that within the ASL Aviation Holdings group, ASL Airlines Ireland (Dublin International) is the only other operator of ATR freighters. The addition of the ATR72-500(F) aligns with ASL Airlines UK’s commitment to strengthening its position in the air cargo market.

As ASL Airlines UK continues to evolve its fleet, stay tuned for updates on the airline’s growth and its contributions to the dynamic landscape of air cargo services.
