Belgium’s ASL Group is set to expand its fleet with additional Cessna Citation jets and more Embraer aircraft to support its group charter operations. Co-CEO Johan Maertens confirmed plans to add Citation XLS jets and possibly expand the company’s fleet of Citation Mustangs. On the charter side, ASL is eyeing more Embraer E-Jets to meet growing demand for mid-size group travel.

The ASL Group currently operates a diverse fleet of around 45 aircraft, ranging from turboprops like the King Air B200 to long-range jets such as the Dassault Falcon 7X. Most aircraft are placed under ASL’s management by owners to generate revenue when not in use. The company does not currently operate ultra-long-range jets like Gulfstreams, focusing instead on Europe-based travel.

ASL holds three AOCs—one in Belgium and two in the Netherlands—under brands including JetNetherlands and Air Charters Europe. The group also operates air ambulances, provides specialized missions like medical repatriation and organ transport, and offers maintenance through its Part 145 organization, Rijnmond Air Services, which is expanding to meet rising demand.

The company recently secured a foreign air carrier permit for U.S. charters and sees steady demand across Europe, especially for business and group travel. ASL also runs a pilot training school and fractional ownership program.

Looking ahead, ASL plans to introduce sustainable aircraft with its order for up to 10 electric Vaeridion Microliners, targeting regional routes by 2030. These quieter, zero-emission aircraft may help address slot constraints at busy European airports.
