Athens airport welcomes Jet2
A very important addition in the UK, Athens strongest International market, with exciting opportunities ahead
Following years of cooperation with Jet2, the time has finally arrived. Jet2.com will enter Athens fantastic market on the 14th of April.
Preparing for the inauguration of this newest development, Athens International Airport organized a very successful Press Event for Jet2.com
On the 29th of March, speaking at a joint event with Athens International Airport, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ CEO Steve Heapy talked about the company’s growth story in Greece, as well as its continued commitment to further success. The company’s ambitious plans include the launch of flights and city breaks to Athens for the very first time this summer. Yiannis N. Paraschis, CEO of Athens International Airport welcomed this growth and highlighted the relationship with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays as an example of Athens Airport continuing to see more traffic, as travel bounces back following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The success of this joint event was highlighted by the huge attendance from media; indeed, the media attendance was one of the highest ever in an airline press event, demonstrating the big interest in Jet2.com, as well as in promising news on the Athenian Summer growth and development.
Jet2.com will offer four weekly services, operating between the capital of Greece, to Birmingham and Manchester Airports from 14th April (two weekly services on each route).
All in all, in Summer 2022, Athens will be connected to the UK with 8 airlines, operating to 5 cities and 8 airports.
