Atlanta airport remains world’s busiest

Airports Council International has published its 2021 airport traffic data, confirming that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport reclaimed the title of the world’s busiest, and 11 of the top 20 were US airports. Globally, airports served 4.6 billion passengers in 2021, up 28% from 2020 but well below the 9.1 billion they handled in pre-pandemic 2019.
