Atlas Air supports transport of flowers for Mother’s Day

In commemoration of Mother’s Day, Atlas Air showcased how it transports flowers from South America to different destinations around the world. The carrier transports over five million kilograms of flowers from South America each Mother’s Day season, with many of the orders supporting local economies and farms. To keep the flowers fresh, flowers are transported in refrigerated trucks, moved into large machines that remove moisture and loaded into coolers that are kept between two and eight degrees Celsius for the remainder of the flight. Upon landing, the process is reversed before the flowers are transported to their final destination.
