Atlas Ocean Voyages has officially opened bookings for its highly anticipated 2027 Solar Eclipse Expedition, offering guests an unforgettable Mediterranean journey paired with a front-row seat to one of nature’s most spectacular events. The eight-night voyage departs July 27, 2027, from Barcelona, sailing through Spain and Portugal before concluding in Lisbon.

On August 2, 2027, the ship will position itself at sea for optimal viewing of the total solar eclipse. Guests will enjoy expert commentary and insights from astronomer Jonathan H. Ward, making the experience both educational and awe-inspiring.

Highlights of the itinerary include an overnight stay in Ibiza with a curated wine tasting in Santa Gertrudis, an exploration of Cartagena’s historic World War II submarine tunnels, and a late-night stop at Puerto Banús to visit the ancient city of Ronda. These immersive excursions are designed to showcase the culture, cuisine, and history of the Mediterranean as part of Atlas’ signature Epicurean Expeditions programming.

Fares start at $9,999 per person and include Atlas’ Explorer’s Choice Amenity, allowing guests to choose between an air credit savings of up to $1,000 per stateroom, complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi, or a pre-cruise hotel night.

“The very best place to experience a solar eclipse is at sea, where the horizon is unobstructed and the view is simply perfect,” said James A. Rodriguez, Atlas Ocean Voyages’ president and CEO. “This specially curated journey combines an extraordinary natural phenomenon with enriching cultural experiences.”
