Aurora Expeditions, renowned for its adventures in the polar regions, is set to broaden its horizons with an exciting expansion into new global destinations in 2026. The adventure travel company has announced plans to explore Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic Coast, and the British Isles. Additionally, travelers will have a unique opportunity to witness the August 2026 total solar eclipse from Greenland during the company’s “Jewels of the Arctic” sailing.

The “2026 Arctic and Beyond” season promises a robust schedule with 42 departures. This expanded offering includes adventurous new expedition voyages to exotic locales like Indonesia and Borneo, as well as returning favorites such as Costa Rica and Scotland. To incentivize early bookings, Aurora Expeditions is offering up to 25 percent off cruise fares, making these once-in-a-lifetime trips more accessible to eager explorers.

Recently recognized as a certified B Corp, Aurora Expeditions continues to prioritize sustainable travel practices across its operations. In 2026, the company will enhance its passenger experience by introducing 10 dedicated solo cabins on every sailing across its fleet of three small ships. This initiative allows solo travelers to enjoy these unique voyages without the burden of a single supplement, encouraging more adventurers to explore the world independently.

Michael Heath, CEO of Aurora Expeditions, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s growth and diversification. “Our 2026 Arctic and Beyond season heralds an exciting evolution for Aurora Expeditions. We have grown from our core offering of polar and remote area expeditions to a greater diversity of destinations, climates, and exploration styles to allow our passengers to experience more,” he said.

The expansion of Aurora’s itinerary options coincides with the anticipated debut of a new ship, the Douglas Mawson, scheduled to join the fleet in December 2025. This 154-guest ship will offer fresh itineraries focusing on East Antarctica, showcasing Aurora Expeditions’ commitment to providing innovative and immersive travel experiences.

Heath further emphasized the strategic growth of the company, stating, “With us soon to welcome the Douglas Mawson to our fleet of small ships, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to diversify and innovate our offering for both our loyal passengers who have joined us in the past, as well as those yet to discover the Aurora difference.”

Aurora Expeditions’ expansion into new regions reflects a growing trend in the travel industry towards diverse and environmentally conscious adventures. By venturing beyond the polar realms and into tropical, historical, and culturally rich destinations, Aurora is setting a new standard for what adventure travel can offer.

The 2026 season not only adds new destinations but also enriches the travel experience with opportunities to engage with different cultures, landscapes, and wildlife across the globe. With this strategic expansion, Aurora Expeditions invites both seasoned and new adventurers to discover the world’s wonders through a variety of travel styles and climates, all while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and passenger satisfaction.
