Austria’s MJET is preparing to launch Learjet operations in April 2025 with the addition of its first Learjet 60 to the fleet. The aircraft, registered OE-GNL (msn 60-173), is 25.1 years old and was previously operated in South Africa as ZS-TEJ.

After nearly two years of limited activity, the jet resumed operations with a test flight from Johannesburg Lanseria in August 2024, followed by another test flight on February 12, 2025. It was then ferried to Vienna between February 17 and 18, with a technical stop in São Tomé.

MJET Chief Commercial Officer Antonia Gilbert confirmed to ch-aviation that the Learjet 60 will be managed by the company and offered for charter on a flexible-use basis. Swiss broker Simply Jet will handle charter bookings for the aircraft.

The Learjet 60 joins MJET’s diverse fleet, which includes a Challenger 650, Embraer Legacy 600, Gulfstream G200, G450, GVII-G500, and G650. MJET also manages an Airbus ACJ319-100, currently stored at Dubai World Central since May 2022.

MJET’s sister company, Alpi Jets, also holds an Austrian AOC and operates a growing business jet fleet that includes a Phenom 300E, Gulfstream G450, G550, GVII-G600, and a Pilatus PC-24.

With the Learjet 60 addition, MJET expands its midsize jet offerings, enhancing charter flexibility for short- and mid-range missions across Europe and beyond. The move aligns with growing demand for business aviation services in the region.
